Zesty Cranberry-Ginger Sauce

Why settle for boring canned cranberry sauce this Thanksgiving, when you can easily transform it into this deliciously zesty ginger-spiced version?

1 can (16 oz) whole cranberry sauce
1 tsp grated orange peel
1 Tbs finely chopped crystallized ginger (as finely minced as possible)
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground allspice

Place all ingredients in a small saucepan, stir to combine, then heat on the stove, stirring occasionally, until hot. Spoon over sliced turkey.

Zestfully yours,

PS: Another excellent alternative to plain cranberry sauce is Thomas Gourmet Cranberry Chutney, an all-natural sweet & savory blend of cranberries, apples, raisins, ginger and spices -- and on sale at the Carolina Sauce Company online store!

  1. this sound like a great tasting dipping sauce or a gravy type mix ..might try this one..

  2. Hi Jayde,

Thanks for reading my blog! I'd love to hear how the recipe turns out for you as a dipping sauce or gravy mix (both sound like great ideas), so please feel free to leave another comment.

    Have a Happy Thanksgiving,
