November's Top 10 Best-Selling Products at Carolina Sauce

The following are the top ten best-selling sauces and products at the Carolina Sauce Company during the month of November.  It's an interesting mix of popular tropical hot sauces and specialty pork products, with a Jamaican jerk seasoning and a couple of BBQ sauce thrown in for good measure.  If you are looking for a memorable edible Christmas gift for someone who enjoys tasty food or flavorful hot sauces, you can't go wrong with anything on our best-seller list.

1. Our top selling product last month was Jamaica Hell Fire 2 in 1 Hot Sauce, a fiery concoction of sun-ripened tropical hot peppers, tomatoes and Jamaican seasonings for an unforgettably fabulous flavor.  Enjoy it on everything from breakfast eggs to burgers and dinner entrees.

2. Matouk's Calypso Hot Sauce was the second-best selling sauce, and it also provides peppery island flavor to any savory food.  Made with aged scotch bonnet peppers in a thick mustard base, this Caribbean hot sauce pairs well with robust dishes like grilled or roast meats and poultry.

3. Matouk's West Indian Hot Sauce was October's best-selling product, and last month this delightfully spicy papaya-scotch bonnet hot sauce finished in third place.  A little gentler in heat than Matouk's Calypso, Matouk's West Indian Hot Sauce complements everything from fish and seafood to chicken, veggie and rice dishes.

4. Wells Hog Heaven BBQ Sauce is an authentic eastern NC barbecue sauce made with vinegar and spices, and absolutely no tomatoes or thickeners.  A favorite among fans of Carolina style pulled pork BBQ, Wells Barbecue Sauce also serves as a tangy marinade for chicken and adds zest to cooked collards, green beans, field peas and other side dishes.

5. Walkerswood Traditional Jamaican Jerk Seasoning is the connoisseur's choice for making genuine Jamaican jerk at home.  Chock-full of aromatic herbs and exotic spices, with a hefty dose of hot chilies, a little goes a long way when using this jerk paste (wet rub) on chicken, beef, pork, lamb, goat or seafood.  Some folks even use it as a rub for their holiday turkey!

6. Susie's Original Hot Sauce from Antigua is notoriously hard to find in the United States, so we're happy to be able to offer it to our customers.  And they must be happy that we carry it, because they've made this classic Caribbean mustard-pepper hot sauce one of our top-selling hot sauces!

7. J.T. Pappy's Flamin' Gator BBQ Sauce made a triumphant return last month, after a long absence while the manufacturer switched from small plastic bottles to much larger glass ones.  But they didn't change the rich, slightly smoky mustard-tomato flavor of this spicy barbecue sauce, or their eye-catching "grilling gator" label.

Jalapeno Bacon Jerky
8. Jalapeno Bacon Jerky:  If you love bacon and wish you could enjoy it anywhere you go, including on back-country hiking trips, during long commutes or even at your desk, bacon jerky is the snack for you.  Made with real hickory-smoked brown sugar cured bacon and seasoned with jalapeno peppers, Jalapeno Bacon Jerky also makes a great stocking-stuffer or gift for the bacon (and hot foods) fanatic.

9. Bone-In Whole Cooked Country Ham:  Country ham is a Southern breakfast staple, and few foods are as satisfying in the morning as a hot, freshly-baked biscuit with a slice of tender, salty country ham.  This award-winning country ham from Smithfield NC is also great in recipes, and you'll find a few when you scroll to the bottom of our Country Ham page.

10. Curemaster's Reserve Mangalitsa Ham:  While some folks serve traditional turkey for Thanksgiving, others prefer ham.  And for those who want only the best, there's Mangalitsa Ham, a European delicacy that's now available here in the US, thanks to the efforts of a small North Carolina producer.  The Mangalitsa breed of pig was recently imported to the US, and Johnston County Hams uses traditional methods to replicate the gourmet flavor and buttery texture of this exquisite Austrian style ham.

Zestfully yours,
Gloria
