Top 10 Best-Selling NC Products for 2011

Wells Hog Heaven Barbecue Sauce
North Carolina may be most famous for its barbecue and BBQ sauces, but there are some mighty good hot sauces, condiments and seasonings made in the Old North State, and you'll find some of the best at the Carolina Sauce Company.  Here is our list of our top ten best-selling North Carolina products for 2011:

1. Wells Hog Heaven BBQ Sauce: Made in eastern NC specifically for pulled pork barbecue, Wells Barbecue Sauce is our overall top-selling product.  This thin, tangy vinegar BBQ sauce also doubles as a marinade for chicken, and adds a splash of flavor to collards and other greens.

2. Bone Suckin' Barbecue Sauce: Probably the best-known condiment to come from North Carolina, the original Bone Suckin' Sauce is a western NC style sauce like the ones served at BBQ joints in Lexington NC and other Piedmont towns.  Its sweet and sassy blend of tomatoes, vinegar and just a touch of spice make it a great choice for the whole family whether you're grilling pork, beef, chicken or shrimp.

Scott's Barbecue Sauce
3. Scott's Barbecue Sauce: Scott's BBQ Sauce has been made by several generations of the Scott family in Goldsboro, NC for about a century. This classic eastern NC vinegar barbecue sauces is a special blend of vinegar, hot peppers and spices for a savory, hot flavor that will spice up pulled pork BBQ and anything you marinate with it.

4. Bone Suckin' Thicker BBQ Sauce: Sporting the same mouthwatering tomato-vinegar flavor as the original but with a thicker, more substantial body, Bone Suckin' Thicker BBQ Sauce is great for basting, mopping and slathering ribs, chicken, chops, kabobs, seafood, grilled veggies, and anything else that could benefit from its tangy-sweet flavor and stay-on-your-food texture.

5. George's Original BBQ Sauce: George's is another eastern NC barbecue sauce similar to Wells and Scott's, but because it's made from apple cider vinegar and just a smidge of tomato the flavor is mellower with a hint of natural sweetness. George's Barbecue Sauce is great with pulled pork, grilled chicken or shrimp, in baked beans and stews, with baby back ribs, chops, roasts and other hearty fare cooked indoors or out.

Bone Suckin' Seasoning Rub
6. Bone Suckin' Rib Rub & Seasoning: This is the original Bone Suckin' Seasoning Rub, an all-natural sweet & savory BBQ rub with a little bit of peppery zip.  Use it on pork butt, ribs, brisket or chicken prior to smoking, grilling, roasting or baking for finger-lickin' good flavor that will penetrate the meat.  Or get creative and sprinkle it on cooked vegetables, mashed or baked potatoes, fries, popcorn, steak or hash browns, and add some to season your breadcrumbs for fried fish or fried chicken.

7. Bone Suckin' Sweet Hot Mustard: If you like your mustard a little bit sweet and a little bit spicy, this smooth honey mustard with a peppery kick is for you.  Spread it on sandwiches and burgers, dip pretzels or veggies or fried foods in it, add it to prepared salads or deviled eggs, or use it as a glaze for ham, ribs, tuna steaks and other grilled or baked foods.

Outta the Park BBQ Sauce
8. Outta the Park BBQ Sauce: This award-winning barbecue sauce may be made in NC, but the flavor is all-American rather than regional. Outta the Park is a thick, tomato based BBQ sauce that has a big, bold flavor closer to that of Kansas City style sauces but without being overly sweet and with a zesty peppery bite at the end. Terrific on anything you grill, and in meatloaf, sloppy joes, baked beans and other recipes calling for BBQ sauce or ketchup.

9. Wells All-Purpose Ribs & Chicken Sauce: This is the tomato-based sibling of Wells Hog Heaven. The name says it all: use this thick, savory tomato barbecue sauce for basting and finishing chicken, ribs, chops, shrimp and burgers on the grill, or in ground meat recipes, casseroles and other dishes.  You can also dip french fries and onion rings in it, or enjoy it with scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage and hash browns.

10. Cackalacky Spice Sauce: With a flavor as unique as its name, Cackalacky is a favorite of folks who like a richly-flavored, good tasting spice sauce that's not too hot. Made with sweet potatoes, tomatoes, honey and a splash of vinegar, Cackalacky is superb on pretty much any savory dish from breakfast eggs & potatoes & sausage to lunch sandwiches or pizza to dinner entrees and sides.

Zestfully yours,
Gloria
