Crock Pot Recipe: Outta the Park Short Ribs

crock pot short ribs
This month's Facebook giveaway is brought to us by Outta the Park BBQ Sauce, an award-winning rich & zesty tomato barbecue sauce made in North Carolina using all-natural (and mostly organic) ingredients and no HFCS -- which means it's wholesome and also finger-lickin', lip-smackin', ask-for-seconds (and thirds) good.

Unlike most barbecue sauces made in NC, Outta the Park is not a thin, vinegar-based sauce. Instead, it's made in the classic American style: Thick, tangy-sweet, and packed with tomatoes and a touch of zesty spice. Terrific on grilled chicken, beef or pork ribs, burgers, shrimp or veggies, it's equally good in the kitchen or on the BBQ grill.

I used a bottle of the Original Outta the Park BBQ Sauce in my crock pot short ribs recipe, but if you prefer spicy-hot ribs, then use a bottle of Outta the Park Hot & Spicy BBQ Sauce, or a mixture of  some of both to customize your heat level.

If you'd like a chance to win a bottle of each flavor of this all-American barbecue sauce, simply Like us on Facebook and look for today's "Crock Pot Game" post, then follow the simple instructions there to enter our giveaway.

Without further ado, here's my super-easy recipe for slow cooker BBQ beef short ribs:

Ingredients
3 1/2 to 4 lbs beef short ribs
Outta the Park Barbecue Sauce
1/4 cup chopped red onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 bottle of Outta the Park BBQ Sauce

Place all ingredients in your crock pot or slow cooker (you might need to cut the rib racks into smaller portions to fit in your crock pot). Stir to combine, cover and cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours or until ribs are tender. Remove ribs from crock pot, carefully skim off the fat from the sauce in the crock pot (a turkey baster is a good tool to suction off the rendered fat), then return ribs to sauce and stir to coat. Serves 4 to 6.

Zestfully yours,
Gloria
