Red's Coke Can Chicken

Unless you're from the South, this recipe -- which features white barbeque sauce, typically found in Alabama -- might seem a little weird. But trust me, it's quite good! Red's Coke Can Chicken is just one of several free recipes you'll get when you purchase a bottle of Red's White Sauce from the Carolina Sauce Company.

Ingredients
One 4 to 5 lb roasting chicekn
One bottle of Red's White Sauce, and another bottle to use for basting (you won't use the entire 2nd bottle)
One 12 oz can of your favorite cola

Place the chicken in a large zip top plastic bag and pour in one bottle of Red's White Sauce. Zip the bag and shake to completely coat the chicken with the sauce. Marinate overnight in your refrigerator.

Remove chicken from marinade and discard marinade. Preheat your grill to medium/low heat. Open the can of cola, place it on a grill-safe pan, and carefully place the chicken over the can from the bottom cavity of the bird, so that chicken is standing up. Place pan with chicken on your grill, and close the grill to cook. Every 20 minutes or so, open the grill and baste the chicken with more white sauce from the second bottle. The chicken is done when juices run clear when pierced.

Carefully remove the chicken from grill, discard the cola can, and serve the chicken with extra Red's White Sauce on the side for dipping.

Zestfully yours,
Gloria
